Quentin Jones is an artist, art director, illustrator and photographer. She creates fashion videos and images that have appeared on many online and offline magazines (Vogue and ID to name a few).
Her aesthetic is often described as a modern take on the surrealist tradition, realised largely through photomontage, loose paintwork, and dynamic video editing.

For Autumn Winter 2018, Marella chose Quentin Jones as the face and the hand behind a printed capsule presented within the brand’s most successful project: the Marella ART.365 collection.

The brand asked the eclectic London-based illustrator and filmmaker to create three impressive patterns – abstract black & white paint – to customise a small range of special items of the collection.
The first inspiration came from the attraction of opposites, key concepts of the ART.365 collection: positive/negative, pretty/rough, sleek/unfinished, contemporary/traditional, light/shadow.

“I realised the brand was all about simplicity and timeless classics told through a monochrome palette. Working in black and white is something I am naturally drawn to with paint and ink, so it was easy to get started.” Asserts Quentin, who effortlessly combined her personal aesthetics, which is a modern interpretation of a surrealist tradition based on photomontage and loose paintwork, with the DNA of the brand. Marella ART.365 design codes were instantly met by the artist.
