Max Mara Leisure Collection Fall Winter ’23

When style and art meet. The Max Mara Leisure FW23 collection is inspired by Sabine Marcelis, a multi-award-winning young designer from Rotterdam who specialises in furnishing and interior design that achieves a perfect harmony between colour, transparency and light, resulting in a continuous visual and perceptive transformation.

The Max Mara Leisure FW23 collection is inspired by the artist’s furnishing items, the colour palette she loves to use and the materials used to make them. So just as in one of her main creations, “Down Light”,  where neon lights, pale colours and transparencies create a riot of unprecedented shades accentuated by reflective materials such as resin and marble, the new Max Mara Leisure also features shiny, silky aspects, resulting in flowing garments in iconic silk fabrics, combined with soft, snug cashmere and mohair knitwear and matte jerseys that add a dynamic, geometric touch.

Leisure time is therefore clothed in garments with contrasting details, suitable both for everyday and exceptional occasions. The collection takes inspiration also from the interior design projects. Environments in which Sabine Marcelis loves to create intimate, minimalist, relaxing spaces, where natural light enters from every corner, changing the appearance of the home just as the daylight changes, while materials such as glass, resin, marble and wood reflect ever-new nuances.

The result of translating these aspects Max Mara Leisure is a collection where the combination of warmer colours instils a sense of security and comfort, while shades such as milk, camel, brick and navy blue, with touches of gold and pink, add femininity to classic silhouettes. Living in intimate spaces means feeling comfortable in yourself but being ready for any occasion that may arise during
the day.

We therefore have garments with sophisticated colour combinations, overlapping textures, in large, contoured volumes and weights, resulting from extensive research and innovation in materials. From comfort to easy care, the collection therefore includes fluid materials and deconstructed silhouettes, but also technical and three-dimensional jerseys suitable for indoor or outdoor styles.

A three-dimensional effect is guaranteed by the carded-wool knitwear in a mixture of stitches, combined with fluid, matte and silky jerseys. Special materials not only from a visual point of view, but also from a tactile and sensory perspective. While the jersey is warmed up by velvet and deconstructed outerwear, enveloping and easy-to-wear.
