Introducing the second season of the Marina Rinaldi by Mary Katrantzou Collection. Mary revisited two stories from her expansive archive, bringing together an optical graphic swirl from her Spring / Summer 2018 Collection remixed with a botanical bouquet from Resort 2016.

The Op-Art print features bold linear elements on the backdrop of a summer pinstripe and graphic monochromatic knitwear styles, whereas British garden flowers, based on imagery from 1960’s seed packets, uses bold lines in a rainbow of colours to counteract the delicacy of the floral compositions.

The artworks and silhouettes are harmonised using careful placements on the body to emphasise the wearer’s frame. The prints are complex yet effortless, and the bold black and white colour palette act as a thread linking the looks together. Some dresses have delicate crystal work as trims and the floral elements are also translated into a detailed stitch embroidery, which swirls around a black evening gown.

Marina Rinaldi worked with the technical expertise of the Mary Katrantzou team to execute each style precisely. They took the precise placements and created digital avatars to ensure each print was placed identically across all sizing, something Mary Katrantzou has perfected throughout her career, aiming to have truly size inclusive collections that are considered across every size.
