Looking to rediscover who the ESCADA woman is, newly appointed global design director Niall Sloan, set out to travel back in time to explore the aesthetic ideals of its founder, Margaretha Ley, who launched the company in 1978.

For his first collection, Niall was inspired by the bold colors and unique fabrics of ESCADA’s heritage. The collection is a combination of sharp tailoring, lustrous fabrics and intricate details. Exciting colour combinations come from multi-tonal tweeds, checks and houndstooth fabrics. The iconic ESCADA logo print and double ‘EE’ gold buttons are brought back from the archive, bringing to life the spirit of the 1980s.

Sloan discusses: “The Fall Winter 2018 collection is a celebration of ESCADA’s rich archives. It was a joy to re- interpret the brand’s heritage in powerful and fun dressing for the modern woman. I am delighted to be sharing my new vision for ESCADA today.

Striking color combinations are explored through multi-tonal tweeds, checks and houndstooth fabrics. Bold florals in lightweight jacquard feel contemporary and fresh next to sharp colored tailoring with contrast piping detail.

Sharp tailoring is a key part of the ESCADA wardrobe  but always shaped in a feminine way, with softer shoulders, an easier silhouette and a twist in the detailing.
